How Long does botox/dysport last?

Botox and Dysport typically last anywhere from 3-4 months, but is patient dependent. Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators that are injected into certain muscles of the face to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Patients often times prefer one over the other, but I like to refer to them as a preference similar to Pepsi and Coke.

How do I know which filler to choose?

Every filler fits a specific area of the face. Depending on what the patient requests, we consult together and map out a treatment plan for specific needs. For lip augmentation, I typically lean towards Juvederm, Restylane, and Volbella. Juvederm and Restylane are a larger molecule than Volbella, therefore providing more of a “plump” and bigger lip. Volbella is a softer and smaller particle size, therefore only allowing so much “plump”. Volbella is perfect for the vertical lines aka “smoker lines” and for providing more definition and smoothing within the lip, without making the lips too big. Voluma is specifically for the lateral cheek area of the face, providing a structural foundation for the face and allowing the patient to feel lifted and refreshed.  Voluma can also be used off-label for areas within the medial cheek and jawline for definition. Vollure is the newest filler to the family and is my “work horse” of all the fillers. I pretty much can put Vollure anywhere and produce exceptional results for my patients. Vollure is for smile lines, marionette lines, can be used to lift the corners of the mouth, and also can be placed in the lips for the right patient.

How long do fillers last?

Every filler has a different life line and every patient is different. Overall, most fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Volbella last anywhere from 6-12 months, again this is patient specific. Vollure clinically is proven to last about 18 months and Voluma can last up to 2 years.

What is the difference between microneedling and the Vampire facial?

Microneedling is a procedure that creates tiny channels within the epidermis to induce collagen and stimulate elastin for creating better overall texture of skin, improving acne scarring, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. There is an immediate benefit to causing disruption of the skin which induces collagen, the key to anti-aging. Microneedling is ideal because it is able to target the epidermis at a deeper level than most laser treatments.

The vampire facial is also a treatment that uses microneedling as the primary source of treatment. We pull a small amount of blood and use the Eclipse PRP machine to produce the most amazing platelet rich plasma to be re-injected back into the skin to help plump and produce collagen within the areas of the skin that are deficient. We also use the platelet rich plasma as a serum to for the microneedling portion of the treatment to provide the skin with the one of the only known serums that has been proven to stimulate collagen.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is deoxycholic acid that can be injected into small pockets of fat within the body, primarily the neck area and jaw line, that offers the patients permanent results. This is the first product in the aesthetic industry providing patients with permanent results of fat reduction. Most patients need anywhere from 2-4 treatments depending on the assessment of fat in the area. Kybella has gradual healing with permanent results. Every patient is a candidate for Kybella because who doesn’t want to tighten up!

What does B12 do?

What is Botox?

Botox is an FDA approved wrinkle relaxer for cosmetic purposes. It works within the muscles of the face by blocking muscle movement and relaxing the area for 3-4 months. Botox typically does not start working for 7-10 days and reaches its peak at day 10. Results vary per patient.

Where can Botox be used?

Botox can be used on the forehead, between the brows, crows feet, and masseter muscles of the face. It can also be used in the armpit area and palms of hands for excessive sweating. The masseter muscles can be injected for teeth grinding, as well as slimming the jaw line area and creating a softer jawline.

Vitamin B12 injections can help with anemia, fatigue, metabolism boosting, weight loss. Vitamin B is one of the hardest vitamins to be absorbed through foods and primarily needs to be ingested through supplements. Vitamin B12 injections can be used once per week to increase energy levels and metabolism, as well as providing the body with the necessary B vitamins.

What age should I start getting Botox and Filler?

There is clinically no specific age where one should begin cosmetic procedures and injections. I tell my patients that if there are certain areas that bother you and can be fixed by non-invasive procedures such as Botox, Filler, or Kybella, then why not take care of them. I have younger patients in my practice and I also have patients in their mid- 40’s just beginning treatment. The main takeaway is that prevention is the key to aging naturally and my goal is to provide you with your best, refreshed look.
